We’re thrilled to share an exciting new TV series that puts one of the world’s most extraordinary regions firmly in the spotlight. Julia Bradbury’s Wonders of the Frozen South is a brand-new 3-part documentary series on ITV, filmed in partnership with HX Expeditions.
Following Julia on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica, the series offers a rare glimpse into the wildlife, landscapes and remote communities of the Southern Ocean – and into what it’s really like to explore this region on a true expedition cruise.
The first episode airs Saturday 15th February at 12:45pm on ITV1, with subsequent episodes airing weekly. A perfect mid-Winter escape and an inspiring introduction to one of the planet’s last great wildernesses.
Over the course of a 23-day expedition voyage aboard HX’s purpose-built expedition ship MS Fram, Julia immerses herself in the frozen south, guided by HX’s expert expedition team. Along the way, viewers will discover:

Often described as the wildlife capital of the Southern Ocean, South Georgia leaves a lasting impression. Julia soaks up the dramatic mountain scenery, all whilst witnessing extraordinary numbers of King Penguins and fur seals. The episode delves deep into the legacy of polar exploration and the resilience of this remote island.

This beautiful journey concludes in Antarctica. Home to breathtaking glaciers and an endless array of ice fields, viewers get the opportunity to see for themselves just how ginormous Antarctica truly is!
