Over 20 years of experience now… and I still love it!
I have been selling cruise holidays for 20 years now, and I still love it. I love that there’s always someone new to introduce to cruising, and I get just as excited as they do. I also enjoy cruising with my family so much that my daughter now knows her way around most ships better than I do!
My favourite destination is Alaska – the wildlife and scenery are incredible. I loved watching for whales as we sailed through the Inside Passage, and I could go to Glacier Bay every day and still be amazed. Staying in Vancouver before the cruise was a highlight in itself. It’s such a laid-back city to explore.
South America is another favourite – it feels so untouched. The landscapes are wild and dramatic, and the towns are full of tradition and character. The Med is also a wonderful place to cruise. You can always find some fantastic historic church, museum, or beautiful place to visit and explore. Then, finally, Japan. It’s unlike anywhere else. The customs and traditional ways they still live by are fascinating, and the Japanese people are so friendly. I would love to go back.
I have mostly cruised with Celebrity Cruises, Princess, P&O, and Norwegian, and all are fantastic in their own way. I always say it’s best to choose the itinerary you want first and then choose the ship that offers it.
Celebrity Cruises are very adult-oriented ships. The dining is first-class, the entertainment is low-key and laid-back, and the ships are very modern.
Princess Cruises has beautiful, traditional-looking ships that offer high service standards. They’re a great choice for first-time cruisers and families.
