A: The majority of cruise lines will automatically add your gratuities/tips to your onboard account. The main reason for this is that the dining options on board have changed so much in recent years with the introduction of more flexible, speciality dining options meaning over the course of a week, you may encounter various waiting staff. The other reason is that most ships now operate a cashless system on board which is why it is added to your onboard account. Should you wish to remove this gratuity from your onboard account you should speak to guest relations onboard.
