Passengers will be able to stay in touch with the outside world whilst on a cruise just as much as they would on any other holiday.
Most cruise ships have internet access, sometimes at an extra cost, allowing passengers to stay in touch with their emails and social media. Most will have internet cafes and Wi-Fi areas or hot-spots on their ships allowing you to connect to the internet via your mobile phone, tablet or laptop.
Many cruise ships also have satellite link ups allowing passengers to see the latest current affairs and sports events. Many of the Cruise lines this year were able to broadcast the Football World Cup live due to this type of technology.
Usually a ship will also provide a newsletter, letting passengers know the main topics of current affairs as well as what is happening onboard ship.
Staterooms will have access to a telephone and mobile phones should remain functional if they are enabled for roaming. It is worth noting, however, that this function almost always reflects a higher tariff and fee dependent upon your mobile phone service provider.
A cruise is never too far away from a port and the most tourist friendly will normally provide access to newspapers from around the world.
Our Cruise Experts can help and advise you in selecting the best cruise for your needs – call us on 0800 019 0063.

Phenomenal service and the staff are always so friendly and helpful when looking to book a dream holiday. We have always dealt with Louise from the Ayr branch for the last seven years and honestly she is amazing and has so much knowledge that she is able to help us immensely in booking holidays.
