All modern cruise ships, big or small, are designed with inbuilt stabilisers to steady the ship and reduce the motion as much as possible.
Sailing on a larger ship you will find the motion of the sea a bit less than that of a smaller ship. For obvious health and safety reasons each ship is fitted with stabilisers designed to balance the ship in rough seas so the amount of movement you feel onboard should be much reduced.
Smaller ships will have increased motion than that of a larger ship, however, these are still fitted with stabilisers and are perfectly safe - maritime law is very strict and the ships would not be permitted to sail in dangerous waters.
In bad weather access to outside decks on ships is closed off in case of injury and guests are advised to stay indoors.
If you do suffer from seasickness our best advice would be to stay on a lower deck near the middle of the ship where the motion will be felt least. Focusing on the horizon line outside can also help to balance you.
Before travelling you can also purchase motion sickness wrist bands. If you are overly concerned about sea sickness then our Cruise Experts would be happy to assist you in choosing your cabin aiming to position you on a lower deck and as mid ship as possible.

Excellent service from Jordan Fee at the Irvine branch. We were back and forward with many changes. Jordan gave us a range of options and also followed up with courtesy emails which were going on a few months. We changed course completely and Jordan still continued to offer excellent advice with a variety of airports, we have now booked our first ever cruise as a family with Jordan. Fantastic customer service from Jordan through the whole experience!
