Find Your Perfect Cruise

Do cruise ships add auto gratuity onto your bar bill?

Most cruise companies will automatically add on some sort of gratuity or service charge onto your bar bill.

When purchasing an on board service such as a spa treatment or drinks most cruise lines will add on a small percentage as a service charge for each transaction. This will be given to the spa therapist or barman who has served you.

If you feel like you have had an outstanding service you can increase this amount of service charge, or if you feel like you have not had such a good service then some cruise lines will usually allow you to remove this.

Each cruise line has different terms and conditions for this so you must check before travelling what the specific policy is on gratuities and service charges.
