The electrical voltage and socket types used on board cruise ships can vary depending upon the cruise line and point of origin, however, ships are usually fitted with standard US, European or UK sockets or a mixture of these.
Standard electrical supply in the United Kingdom operates at 240V and three-pin UK sockets on cruise ships operate at 220V or 230V volts which should be sufficient for charging electrical equipment like laptops and mobile phones.
Most cabins should also be fitted with a hairdryer and a standard electrical shaver charger.
You will find that most cruise lines have European or American sockets onboard with the exception of P&O Cruises. The P&O fleet operates with standard UK three-pin plug sockets with the exception of P&O Britannia which also has US two- pin sockets in addition to the UK three- pin ones.
