Whilst it is true that some cruises are adults only, many providers do have cruises that are specially designed to keep families and children entertained.
There are many family friendly cruise lines providing kids' clubs for all ages, dedicated spaces for teenagers, family swimming pools, Aquaparks, activities and restaurants that cater to the needs of young children.
The kids clubs usually cater for children between the ages of 6 months and 17 years old and are categorised into different age groups.
There are playgroup sessions for 6 months to 3 years, educational and arts and crafts activities for 6 to 11 year olds and much more to keep them entertained.
Many of the Cruise Lines also offer ‘Tween’ clubs separating the younger teens (aged 12 to 14) from the older (15 to 17 year olds). These Teen areas normally have video games, music, movies and other teen-only activities and some are available later into the evening to around 10pm or even later for a small fee.
Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise line both have fantastic facilities for families as do Disney Cruise Line where the experience is centred around the kids but still retains elements for the adults to enjoy. MSC Cruises also offer a Kids cruise FREE policy where children sharing a cabin with two adults cruise for FREE only paying port dues and flights, where applicable
Many cruise lines will also offer a babysitting service, normally so parents can get some time to indulge themselves and staterooms may have extra storage space and be interconnecting so families can stay together.
Some cruise lines do not have restrictions on children but will have little in the way of entertainment to keep younger passengers occupied so it pays to research and find the most appropriate cruise to suit your needs.

Sean from the Belfast branch was great the whole way throughout. We kept making changes to dates and how may people were going which messed up rooms and hotels and Sean never batted an eyelid to help us. He has done us big turn really appreciate it. He’s got the whole thing booked for us under budget and staying in far nicer places than we were expecting will definitely be back because of it. Was always available to help whether it was in the branch, over the fone or email, were all bizz with the holiday. Big shout out to Eamon in the same branch who was another great help and really enjoyed his company as well. Great team and a great run company will 100% be booking all my big holidays through here.
