Vietnam has two main departure ports with Hanoi in the north and Ho Chi Minh located in the south of the country. As Hanoi is inland, cruises typically depart from either Halong International Cruise Port or Tuan Chau International Marina, both near Halong and about 2.5 hours transfer to the capital. Meanwhile, Phu My serves as HO Chi Minh City’s homeport, approximately 1.5 hours from the sights of the city centre.
